Is it too early to worry?

This season for the Red Sox has not started out with a bang.  They were swept by the Brewers, and have been less than dazzling this season.  The bats have been silent.  On this current road trip, they are hitting just .173, and took extra innings to win last night even though they received 15 walks.  In fact, the winning double came against Leury Garcia, a utility player who had never pitched before.

To be sure, injuries have to be considered as part of the equation.  Like many sports, baseball is a game of momentum and when key players are out, it can be difficult to gain that momentum.  Shane Victorino has not played yet this season, though he appears to be getting closer to playing as he starts a rehab assignment tonight in Pawtucket.  Will Middlebrooks has not started a rehab assignment, and was sent back to Boston with a 102 degree fever and other flu-like symptoms.  Koji Uehara, Dustin Pedroia, and Mike Napoli are all back in the lineup after brief concerns about their health.
