Readings for Today

“Never work with animals or children.”  W.C. Fields said this often (though it was not the case he did not like either).  Why?  Because with life on stage, W.C. Fields knew that there was no competing with children or animals.  They are unpredictable and sometimes adorable.

It is not always easy to share the stage.  Sometimes we really want to have it all to ourselves, to be noticed, admired, respected.  And when we have to share the stage, or are not even noticed on the stage, we can be filled with jealousy and envy.  We can feel in such situations that life is not fair, that we have been wronged, that we are a victim.
